Eloping with baby

Including your baby in your elopement.

Aileen and Darren chose to elope to the west of Ireland, bringing with them their gorgeous little boy.

They rented a stunning cottage in the grounds of Sheen Falls lodge, overlooking the lakes.  The beautiful, spatial surroundings lent itself to a calm, relaxed morning before the wedding.  Darren had some lovely father son time getting ready together, while Aileen got dressed in the master bedroom.  They chose to do a “first look” before the ceremony, with Aileen surprising both the men in her life with her bold choice of a red wedding dress.  They made things official in one of the rooms in the hotel before we headed off to the wilds of Kenmare to exchange vows in the more traditional celtic ways at a Stone Circle.

There were lots of beautiful candid moments that having a young child will bring.  This day was a beautiful story of the love, joy and togetherness that marked the start of their lives together as a family.

Bringing your baby to your wedding is a wonderful idea, and here are several reasons why:

Inclusivity: Including your baby in your elopement ceremony symbolizes the start of your new family together. It’s a beautiful way to acknowledge your child’s presence and significance in your lives as you make this commitment to each other.

Family Bonding: Involving your baby in the wedding creates a strong sense of family unity. It’s a moment to celebrate your love as parents and your love for each other, all in one setting.

Memories: Including your baby in the wedding allows you to create lasting memories that you can share as a family. Years down the line, you can look back on your elopement and cherish the moment you became a family.

Photogenic Moments: A baby can add adorable and heartwarming moments to your wedding photos. Their innocence, smiles, and reactions can make for some of the most endearing and candid shots.

Personal Touch: It adds a deeply personal and meaningful touch to your elopement. Your wedding isn’t just about the two of you; it’s about your family as a whole. This inclusion reflects your shared journey as a family and your commitment to raising your child together.

Symbol of Love: Your baby can be a living symbol of your love and commitment. They serve as a reminder of the love that brought your family together and the love you’ll continue to nurture as a family.

Easier Logistics: Elopements often involve smaller, more intimate ceremonies. This makes it more manageable to include your baby, as you won’t have to navigate the complexities of a large wedding with lots of guests.

Adventure and Experience: For your child, being part of your elopement can be an early adventure and a unique experience. It’s a way to introduce them to the beauty of nature and the importance of family and love.

Of course, when planning to include your baby in your elopement, it’s essential to consider their needs and comfort, such as feeding, napping, and safety. Preparing for the logistics will ensure that your elopement is a joyous and memorable occasion for your whole family.
